It's easier for me to post on Instagram so I post there a lot. This time I wanted to share the Junk Journal I am starting. I found this beautiful Astronomy paper on Etsy by <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/742473786/astronomy-junk-journal-digital-kit?ref=shop_home_active_26&crt=1" target="_blank">LianaScrap</a>. It really called to me. So here is the inside book cover and the first page of my junkjournal.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiKEAtOzGzCs4_Pb6CZTI27b2qM9cGdbi0ct4qf4Kqb8PlrsgI-fvNmw3MyhFbSQ1N2e67blYQA4Rm_9GhateU4V-ZlRE1THC3Q32RlOrU8ob7XQjBV8tPMM7DBoh670jGZ8c5NhF0uR8/s2048/20200814_134803%255B1%255D.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="384" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiKEAtOzGzCs4_Pb6CZTI27b2qM9cGdbi0ct4qf4Kqb8PlrsgI-fvNmw3MyhFbSQ1N2e67blYQA4Rm_9GhateU4V-ZlRE1THC3Q32RlOrU8ob7XQjBV8tPMM7DBoh670jGZ8c5NhF0uR8/w512-h384/20200814_134803%255B1%255D.jpg" title="Astronomy Junk Journal Paper from Lianascrap on etsy" width="512" /></a></div><p>I used an old book and just ripped out some pages to give room for all the junk I am going to put in it. I think it will be perfect for some bible journaling because of the Celestial theme. </p><p></p><p style="text-align: center;">Happy Crafting!</p><p style="text-align: center;">Donna</p><p></p>Donna Nucehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03798682427754298435noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4363472483903649492.post-51668451023165005812020-07-16T12:29:00.001-06:002020-07-16T12:29:40.587-06:00Some of My latest workStill having fun playing with Tim Holtz products and following his demos. First up Distress Crayons!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgh8EdirateotIBAajRjWPsOfoBuIBTgI456WxdaOiwMeoVuxNeL0eWtPGdvfInYiz6dZn7-oAq5o_f7RsNl-faGfI-bTZJcRUmJMOJCIJ3YlYr8qtdDjIHXODKhrMz79WOBFeFvq_QU1M/s1600/20200329_132442.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="CraftyColonel Donna Nuce Distress Crayons Tim Holtz Rubons" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgh8EdirateotIBAajRjWPsOfoBuIBTgI456WxdaOiwMeoVuxNeL0eWtPGdvfInYiz6dZn7-oAq5o_f7RsNl-faGfI-bTZJcRUmJMOJCIJ3YlYr8qtdDjIHXODKhrMz79WOBFeFvq_QU1M/s400/20200329_132442.jpg" title="" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I found these rub-ons in my stash and added them to the Distress Crayons background. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then I played with my new Distress Embossing Glazes. I did a take off of a Jeniffer McGuire <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShJEQI2jeo0" target="_blank">YouTube video on Distress Embossing Glazes Here.</a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPbAioZso-qqmzIXIDlR5ucNEzy10xPRL7OQ0REuxqNb-8P5diMW2Fg-5CmwwsrU-3EtkN2V0i4n-KNlNerP3tPzBlb7bWrNWV0KRen3RxrlcTzStKqZDzmo31_VSzVjysKPKnsevSQHs/s1600/20200330_164256.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="CraftyColonel Donna Nuce Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Distress Oxides Distress Embossing Glazes." border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPbAioZso-qqmzIXIDlR5ucNEzy10xPRL7OQ0REuxqNb-8P5diMW2Fg-5CmwwsrU-3EtkN2V0i4n-KNlNerP3tPzBlb7bWrNWV0KRen3RxrlcTzStKqZDzmo31_VSzVjysKPKnsevSQHs/s400/20200330_164256.jpg" title="" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Tim's Facebook Live videos are a lot of inspiration. You can also watch them on his website. </div>

I had made on of these cute Mobile Office's for my purse on the 2018 Club Scrap Retreat. I checked with Club Scrap and they still had some of these <a href="https://www.clubscrapshop.com/mobile-office-notebook-workshop-kit.aspx#.Xm-_5KhTlPY" target="_blank">Mobile Offices in the store</a>. I ordered them and they were so easy to put together with the directions they sent. For the record I don't receive any compensation from Club Scrap, I just love their products. I use my Botanical Stamps (retired) and paper to decorate them. <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love the little pen that keeps the Mobile Office close. So cute! The notebook is hand stitched and there is a unique way to add paper to the notepad. What projects are you working on with your #socialdistancing ? </div>

That's what happened the other day when I was making ATCs for a swap. Somehow I read my cutter wrong and cut the paper to 3 1/4 instead of 3 1/2 inch long! I didn't realize it until after I had the ATCs made. So I had to redo them to the correct size. I saved the goofed up ones and tore them up a little trying to get another piece off of them to reuse on the correct size ATCs. So I just continued to tear them all around the edges and they made a nice piece for a card. <br />

(August 2019). The ones I didn't send off for the swap sat around until yesterday. I decided to make them in Thank You cards. I had used the Tim Holtz Label Frames and then stamped the <a href="https://www.clubscrapshop.com/forest-floor-stamps.aspx#.XkrSsmipHIU" target="_blank">Club Scrap Forest Floor Mushroom Stamps</a> separately and fussy cut them to mount on the Label Frames. They were colored with Distress Markers. I purchased the font (Moon-Firefly) from <a href="http://creativemarket.com/" target="_blank">Creative Market</a> to make my Thank You sentiments. <br />

I watched some You Tube videos also and learned some new things. This is my first attempt.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTn73G9PF70nHuwkBLUnbHvPhhbeM5U_CMB1Ky7Nqbyn5gdgbxP2BxjQqXGYikAisB5_ov7r20xj1VzplVbvHyqWAkmE84e5EOTGThW9v5Vw0dl9yrxv3uycRFy23mv3v4EOas3_sMEyI/s1600/Alcohol+Ink+flowers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Ranger Alcohol Ink on Translucent Yupo. Doodled with Sharpie Fine Points. By CraftyColonel Donna Nuce" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1237" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTn73G9PF70nHuwkBLUnbHvPhhbeM5U_CMB1Ky7Nqbyn5gdgbxP2BxjQqXGYikAisB5_ov7r20xj1VzplVbvHyqWAkmE84e5EOTGThW9v5Vw0dl9yrxv3uycRFy23mv3v4EOas3_sMEyI/s400/Alcohol+Ink+flowers.jpg" title="" width="308" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started by trying to do a rainbow using a protractor and felt (<a href="https://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2019/03/smooth-alcohol-ink-backgrounds-alcohol-pearls-giveaway.html" target="_blank">Jennifer McGuire technique</a>). I used the pearl Alcohol inks (Intrigue, Tranquil, Sublime, Alchemy, Splendor, Enchantment and Deception in that order). On the translucent Yupo I thought the colors were too washed out. So I started dripping Dandelion, Coral, Pistacio and Silver Mixative on top of the rainbow. Then I saw on a You Tube video that you can use Sharpie Fine Points to doodle on the Alcohol ink. So I doodled some flowers and use my Alcohol pen to pick up colors and fill in the doodles. Then after I trimmed down the Yupo to fit a A2 card I die cut flowers from the trimmed off Yupo and glued them on to the card. I added glitter glue on the centers of the flowers and a silver foil sentiment.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My second attempt was for a challenge on the <a href="https://clubscrap.com/faux-turquoise/" target="_blank">Club Scrap Blog </a> I wanted a faux turquoise look to the alcohol inks. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVv2AujnbYA5Nb52tE3PtP7joVjiioNC3JuBzJKvY3IuyOWXD9jtkLFOfO1k-h3cCIkWWrtxGddEAM5syzbeOj6x7Iprah5eaHyuEE_O2FNhOsROYoSumZBGFlw1HDt7oWEFZjm9oLyn8/s1600/Gem.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Faux Turquoise technique using Ranger Alcohol Inks, Club Scrap Stamp and Ranger Super Fine Gold EP." border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1237" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVv2AujnbYA5Nb52tE3PtP7joVjiioNC3JuBzJKvY3IuyOWXD9jtkLFOfO1k-h3cCIkWWrtxGddEAM5syzbeOj6x7Iprah5eaHyuEE_O2FNhOsROYoSumZBGFlw1HDt7oWEFZjm9oLyn8/s400/Gem.jpg" title="" width="308" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After spraying Yupo with 90% Isopropel Alcohol I dripped Pearl Alcohol Inks in Celestial and Tranquil onto the Yupo. I then added some Gold Mixative and tried to get it to make veins in the ink using a pin to push it around. Didn't get the look I was going for so I used the texture stamp in this month's <a href="https://www.clubscrapshop.com/turquoise-stamps.aspx#.Xj4htGipFPY" target="_blank">Club Scrap Turquoise stamps</a> and stamped in Versa Mark and Ranger Gold Super Find Detail EP. After trimming to the size of the stamp I mounted it with Club Scrap cardstock from the <a href="https://www.clubscrapshop.com/turquoise-pack-of-panels.aspx#.Xj4h2WipFPY" target="_blank">Turquoise Pack of Panels paper</a>. I use <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/eponinekc/operation-write-home-sketches/" target="_blank">OWH Sketch #195</a> for this card. The "you're a gem" stamp is also in the stamp set. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you haven't played with your Alcohol Inks in a while maybe you can be inspired by getting them out and playing with them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Happy Crafting!</div>

Sorry I have not been posting lately, been busy taking care of my 92 year old Mother and 88 year old Mother-in-law. But I have had time to create - just not time to post. <br />
<br />
As I was cleaning out my craft room I came across some 4 x 5 1/4 Designer Paper I had cut up to use for cards. Some of the designs were just Blah! I could have got rid of them but decide to recycle them using stamps and dies. Here is what I came up with.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfnFshNTHmYW0T6HqBbXDtLsQs1kf3glSjg_-CcnAPq-ug1KqSxvmgGib-U5T2m_7sW7KAhppb6o_jftge5cyL25CR0xcf_ImP3CDK0_pT74b3y7y5bEvWhZxpyI_JAwnQ5bpGEYh5kD8/s1600/TH+Bday.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Birthday Card using Tim Holtz stamps and Dies. by Crafty Colonel (Donna Nuce)" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1237" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfnFshNTHmYW0T6HqBbXDtLsQs1kf3glSjg_-CcnAPq-ug1KqSxvmgGib-U5T2m_7sW7KAhppb6o_jftge5cyL25CR0xcf_ImP3CDK0_pT74b3y7y5bEvWhZxpyI_JAwnQ5bpGEYh5kD8/s320/TH+Bday.jpg" title="" width="247" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I lightly stamped the background paper with archival ink. I used some other Designer Paper to cut out the flowers. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Products Used: Stampers Anonymouse CMS 106 and CMS 155. Sizzix Wildflowers Dies and Tag Collection Dies. Distress Ink Gathered Twigs. Ranger Archival Ink.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy Crafting!</div>

I'm celebrating by showing some cards I made this week using the <a href="https://www.clubscrapshop.com/falling-leaves-card-kit.aspx#.XZfmFEZTnIU" target="_blank">Club Scrap Falling Leaves Card Kit,</a> <a href="https://www.clubscrapshop.com/falling-leaves-collage-masking-stencil.aspx#.XZfmb0ZTnIU" target="_blank">Stencil</a> and <a href="https://www.clubscrapshop.com/falling-leaves-stamps.aspx#.XZfmM0ZTnIU" target="_blank">Stamp Set</a>. (I don't receive any compensation from Club Scrap -- I just love their products.) The card kit gives you everything you need to make 12 cards (even envelopes). It has instructions too. For the first 2 sets of four cards I followed the instructions. <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the last four cards I made an idea of my own using some orange Club Scrap cardstock I had and either stenciling or stamping the background with Distress Oxide inks in Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge and Aged Mahogany. I then used <a href="https://www.clubscrapshop.com/store/Search.aspx?searchTerms=stipple+mist&submit=true" target="_blank">Club Scrap Stipple Mist </a>in Cherry, Sunflower and Burnt Umber on the original paper for the card. I stamped the outline stamps with Archival Coffee Ink over the stippled paper and fussy cut them out and arranged them behind the sentiment. I added leaves from the <a href="https://www.clubscrapshop.com/falling-leaves-die-set.aspx#.XZfpw0ZTnIU" target="_blank">Falling Leaves die cut</a> from Rinea Glossy - Copper/Gold Foil paper. Here's a better close up of two of the cards.</div>

If you like Coffee themed kits there is a digital kit at Club Scrap called <a href="https://clubscrapdigital.americommerce.com/store/Search.aspx?searchTerms=Brewed+Awakenings+Digital+Kit&submit=true" target="_blank">Brewed Awakenings</a> (note: I don't received any compensations from Club Scrap - I just like their products.) I started these cards and then they got put away when I was cleaning my desk and I didn't finish them until now.<br />

I was in Washington D.C. for National Guard Duty the day the plane hit the Pentagon. The Double Tree Hotel I was staying in was right across the street from the Pentagon. I was at the Army National Guard Readiness Center (about 2 miles from the Pentagon) when the planes hit. I was more fortunate than 2 others in our Colorado contingent who were actually in the Pentagon when the plane hit. They survived but the chaos and trauma was hard on them. When we were told to leave the building I was in, it took us 2 hours to get back to the hotel even though it was only 2 miles away. Traffic was horrible and cell phones did not work. When I got back to the hotel I was able to use the land line to call my family at home in Colorado to reassure them I was safe. The fear I felt that day still comes back to haunt me sometimes. The sad part is 18 years later we really are no safer from terrorist, and the general public does not take it seriously. The smell of the burning jet fuel smoke being sucked in to our hotel air conditioning will stay with me forever. The relief when we landed back in Colorado on September 12th stays with me too! The world changed on September 11, 2001. Please pray for our troops deployed that they may safely return home. God Bless America!<br />

It has been a while since I posted. I went on a 20 day Mediterranean cruise in May and then my Father-in-law passed away and time got away from me. I have been crafting just not posting on my blog.<br />
When I saw the <a href="http://atcaroundtheworld.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">ATC Around the World challenge</a> I wanted to make a Beach/Sea ATC from the <a href="https://www.clubscrapshop.com/high-tide.aspx" target="_blank">Club Scrap High Tide stamps and kit</a>. (Note: I don't receive any compensation from Club Scrap for this post, I just like their products). I will also be trading these ATCs with the Club Scrap ATC group.<br />

I posted my card for Sandy to post on the Cards in Envy blog but failed to do the blog post on my blog. I guess I am getting "Old-timers" disease LOL! So here is my card for the Love Me or Love My Pet Challenge.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This Dog and Butterfly stamp from Impression Obsessions reminds me of my 16 year old Weimeraner. He's a sleepy boy and if he was sitting outside some butterfly would certainly think he was a great place to rest. I used Graphic 45 paper and sentiment. Check out the other design team member and post a Love card or a Love my pet card for us to see on the <a href="http://cardsinenvy.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Cards in Envy blog.</a> Be sure to read our annoucement at the top of the page about the very last challenge for the Cards in Envy challenge blog.</div>

Time for a new challenge on the <a href="http://cardsinenvy.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Cards in Envy blog</a>. Create a card featuring numbers such as a birthday, at date, 2019, etc. I'm celebrating the new year with my clock card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die. Cutting it out of double stick tape and using Nuvo Guilding flakes in Radiant gold over the surface. The hands are coated with black glitter. The words are from Elizabeth Craft Dies.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Head on over to the <a href="http://cardsinenvy.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Cards in Envy blog</a> and post your cards with numbers on them. Be sure to check out what the Design Team came up with. </div>

Create a card that uses anything that makes you think of Santa. Could be Santa's hat, belt, sleigh or Santa himself! I decided to make a card with Santa.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This vintage Stampin'Up Santa worked well with the Tim Holtz Sizzix retro Merry Christmas die. There's just a touch of bling on the Christmas tree and a rinestone on the i in Christmas!
