Merry Making day 4

The Online Card Classes Merry Making class Day 4 focus is on die cutting.  Here's a card that has not stamping at all.  Just die cuts.

I love the dimension on this card.  I didn't make it a shaker card but I coated the sentiment, snowflakes and snow with Wink of Stella for some shine.

Merry Making Day 3

Day 3 for the Online Card Classes Merry Making class was about using non-holiday stamps for holiday cards.  I pulled out my Club Scrap Woven Strands Celtic style stamps for this card.

Merry Making Day 2

This card for the Online Card Classes Merry Making Class was about paint resist.  I used a metallic paint in the background.  I love the way the metallic acrylic paint shines through all the distress ink and the stamping.  So pretty!

I added a little snow pen to the top of the joy sentiment and some snow ornaments on the trees.

Merry Making Day 1

I signed up for the Online Card Classes Merry Making card class.  One of the techniques on day 1 was a bokeh effect using Distress Oxide inks.  Here's the card I made using that background technique.

I used Stampin'Up's Night in Bethlehem and I am loving the layered city scene that comes with the matching dies.

Cards in Envy Blowin' in the Wind

The Fall Season is upon us!  The new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog is for Autumn cards with leaves on them.  This is my favorite The Aspen trees are turning gold in the mountains. The air is crisp and the skies are brilliant blue. Here's my Autumn card.

It's a little hard to see but the leaves are die cut from metallic gold cardstock.  Head on over to the Cards in Envy blog and check out what the rest of the design team came up with.  Then link up your Autumn cards with us.

Club Scrap Lagoon

I finally had a chance to get out my Club Stamp Lagoon kit and make some cards.  I came up with different versions from the suggestions in the kit.  I'll add these to the linky party for Lagoon.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for ClubScrap Lagoon Linky Party
On this card I used the Quad Print and cut slits in the seaweed.  The fish are stamped, cut out and  inserted in the slits to make it look like they are swimming in and out of the seaweed.  The fish are coated with Wink of Stella for some shine.

On this card I used the Quad Print.  I stamped the mermaid tail on contrasting paper and then used sequins to accent the bubbles.  The mermaid tail is coated with Wink of Stealla for some shine.

Cards in Envy Simple, Plain Card

The challenge on the Cards in Envy blog starts today and we are asking for simple, plain cards (Easy as 1, 2, 3).  That was a real challenge for me.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Simple Cards, Tim Holtz thinlits and Snow Flurries. Memory Box Stencil

I did a stencil background (using distress ink and perfect pearls over the ink) and two die cuts.  That is as simple as I get (LOL)!  I really wanted to start working on Christmas Cards.  Yes, we have about 2 months before it is time to mail out Christmas Cards.
Come check out what the rest of the design team did on the Cards in Envy blog.  Then link up your simple cards with us.

Hope you are enjoying the last days of the summer.   There is a new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog.  We want to see your Celebration or Congratulation cards.  I have been going through my stash and getting out some of my old Club Scrap kits.  The Constellation kit has some beautiful shiny paper that is great for celebration cards.
