Club Stamp Dahlia Cards

Yesterday I discussed the differences between the Club Scrap Greetings to Go kits and the Club Stamp Kits.  Last night I had some time to finish up some cards from the Club Stamp Kits.  Sometimes I use Tricia's cutting directions to make my cards.  Other times I get inspired to create cards without using the directions.  This month I used Tricia's Assembly Line Cardmaking (ALCM) directions because I wanted to be sure I would use all the gorgeous pieces of paper to the limit.  (Something that Tricia is famous for!)   I do one thing different withe the ALCM directions.  Instead of using all the cardstock to make the card bases (8.5 x 5.5 inches), I cut them in half (4.25 x 5.5 inches).  I make card fronts and mount them to white cardstock bases.  That way I have extra cardstock to play with.  Here's two cards I created using Tricia's ALCM but adding my own additions to them.

On this card I stamped the butterflies in Eggplant and colored them with orange and purple.  They have a coat of Wink of Stella for sparkle.  They show up dark in the photo but look much lighter IRL.  I also inked the edges of the DP to give it some depth.

On this card I switched out a Happy Birthday stamp from the Club Scrap Bugs set and added the multi-colored ribbon from the Embellishment Kit
(I always order the Embellishment Kit as an add on to my kit order).

Come back on Monday for my Cards In Envy card to see one more of the Dahlia Cards from the Club Stamp Kit.

Club Scrap Dahlia Blog Hop

It's that time again for the monthly Club Scrap Blog Hop - this month showcasing the beautiful Dahlia kit with watercolor designs by Swarup Murthy (Sanketi on her blog).
I get the digital kit at the beginning of the month and I created this page with it.

On the 20th of the month my Club Stamp kit arrives and I like to make cards with that kit.  I didn't get a chance to finish my cards - I'll be back tomorrow with them.  The difference between the Greetings to Go and the Club Stamp is that Greetings to go has more pre-printed sentiments and different card sizes.  Club Stamp is for stampers who like to make A2 sized cards.  All of the papers are designed to fit that size of card.  With either kit you get fantastic instructions by Tricia (Club Scraps owner).

Silver Linings W2CB#28 #rrcb36

I had some time today to squeeze in a card for two challenges.

I designed this card for the Retro Rubber Challenge.  The water puddles stamp at the bottom of the card is from the Club Scrap Serenity Kit September 2012.  The heart raining clouds stamp is a Hostess Stamp Hello Love from Stampin'Up from their 2014 catalog.  The sentiment is from the Stampin'Up Sprinkles of Life in their current catalog.  Hard to see but the dark clouds are cut from silver foil with the Memory Box Puffy Clouds die.

I also want to enter this in the Words 2 Craft by challenge.

Our spring has come at last with the soft laughter of April suns
and shadow of April showers.   Byron Caldwell Smith

I think my showers fit well with their theme too.

Cards in Envy Another Year

It is time for a new challenge over on the Cards in Envy challenge blog.  This time we want to see your Birthday cards.  Tomorrow I am over on the Club Scrap Blog as a guest designer for the Dahlia Greetings to Go kit.  This card is a "sneak peek" of the cards that will be on the Club Scrap blog.

Donna Nuce Crafty Colonel for Cards in Envy blog, Club Scrap Greetings to Go Dahlia

The sentiment is a preprinted one that comes in the Greetings to Go kit.  I stamped the Dahlia from the Unmounted Jumbo stamp on vellum and heat embossed with white EP.  Then fussy cut it and mounted it on a card that I scored on the inside front every 1/4".

Cards in Envy asks that you only post cards that are flat (no more than 1/4" thick) so they can me mailed in a standard envelope.  We have no size restrictions on cards now.  Check out the other design team members cards on the Cards in  Envy blog and then link up your Birthday cards with us.

Come back here tomorrow for a chance to win some blog candy in honor of my guest artist post on the Club Scrap blog.

Cards in Envy Fantasy or Flowers

It's time for a new challenge at Cards in Envy and this time we want to see cards with flowers or fantasy characters.  I decided to go with fantasy by making a card for my Great-Niece's birthday.

I love the quote that comes with this CTMH set and I used it on the inside of the card.

We no longer have a card size restriction but you must make a card.  Don't make it too lumpy or it won't fit in a standard mailing envelope (hence our blog name Cards in Envy).
Check out what the other design team member made and then link up with your flower or fantasy card at Cards in Envy.
