Cards in Envy Final Farewell Challenge

Yes -- sadly this is the final challenge for the Cards in Envy blog.  In honor of the lady who first started the Cards in Envy Challenge blog, Denise, we are using this sketch from the first challenge.

Here is my card which is a Valentine's Card.
I used the balloon image from the Club Scrap Up, Up and Away! kit (retired).  So show you love for all the years that Cards in Envy has been challenging you.  Link up one last card on our blog and say goodbye.

Cards in Envy Love Me or Love My Pet Challenge

My apologies to Cards in Envy readers looking for my blog post!  I posted my card for Sandy to post on the Cards in Envy blog but failed to do the blog post on my blog.  I guess I am getting "Old-timers" disease LOL!  So here is my card for the Love Me or Love My Pet Challenge.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy challenge. Impression Obessions stamp, Graphic 45 paper,
This Dog and Butterfly stamp from Impression Obsessions reminds me of my 16 year old Weimeraner.  He's a sleepy boy and if he was sitting outside some butterfly would certainly think he was a great place to rest.  I used Graphic 45 paper and sentiment.  Check out the other design team member and post a Love card or a Love my pet card for us to see on the Cards in Envy blog.  Be sure to read our annoucement at the top of the page about the very last challenge for the Cards in Envy challenge blog.

Cards in Envy All About Numbers

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Time for a new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog.  Create a card featuring numbers such as a birthday, at date, 2019, etc.  I'm celebrating the new year with my clock card.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy challenge. Weathered clock Tim Holtz. Nuvo flakes technique.
I used the Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die.  Cutting it out of double stick tape and using Nuvo Guilding flakes in Radiant gold over the surface.  The hands are coated with black glitter. The words are from Elizabeth Craft Dies.
Head on over to the Cards in Envy blog and post your cards with numbers on them.  Be sure to check out what the Design Team came up with.

Time to really get in the Christmas Spirit on the Cards in Envy Challenge Blog!  Show us any style Christmas card and any color theme.  Here's my Spirit of Christmas card.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Christmas Card Challenge. Tim Holtz Alterations.

Sadly the photo does not do justice to the glittery background that I created with Cosmic Shimmer Sky Blue Glitter Kiss smooshed through a Tim Holtz Christmas stencil.

Cards in Envy Santa Baby

Time for a new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog.  Create a card that uses anything that makes you think of Santa.  Could be Santa's hat, belt, sleigh or Santa himself!  I decided to make a card with Santa.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Santa Baby challenge. StampinUp, Tim Holtz Sizzix

This vintage Stampin'Up Santa worked well with the Tim Holtz Sizzix retro Merry Christmas die.  There's just a touch of bling on the Christmas tree and a rinestone on the i in Christmas!  Come on over to the Cards in Envy blog to see what the other design team members did and then link up your Santa cards!

Cards in Envy Fire or Rain

Time for a new challenge on the Cards in Envy Blog.  We are looking for cards that show either Fire or Rain.  I loved this sentiment from the Club Scrap Firecracker Stamp Set.  I dug into another old Club Scrap Kit, Fire and Ice (retired) for some paper and ribbon for the card.

Head on over to the Cards in Envy blog to see if the rest of the design team picked Fire or Rain for their cards.  Then link up your Fire or Rain cards.

Cards in Envy Favorite Holiday

Time for a new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog.  Create a card featuring ANY Holiday that's one of your favorites.  My favorite Holiday will always be Christmas!  This is similar to a card I made for the Denver Scrapbook Expo card swap we just had.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Challenge, Christmas Card Stampin Up
I had planned on making a bunch of these cards but I ran out of this ribbon (acquired in the bargain bin after Christmas).  Of course I couldn't find any more of this ribbon and had to change up my Scrapbook Expo swap cards with different ribbon as I had to make 21 cards all the same!  This got me off my rear end to start making Christmas Cards.
Hop on over to the Cards in Envy blog and share your favorite holiday cards (any holiday) with us.

It's the first Monday of the Month and time for a new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog.  This time we are looking for a cute or a scary Halloween card.  Mine is not super scary (unless the Crow lands on my front porch)!  But I love Graphic 45 Place in Time for a Halloween idea.

Cards in Envy Feels Like Fall

Whoo Hoo!  Fall is here - now let's hope the cool weather shows up too.  Over on the Cards in Envy blog we are looking for your Fall Cards.  I had fun making some fall leaves to add to my fall card.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Fall Challenge, Close To My Heart Pathfinding Card kit.

I used the Close to My Heart Pathfinding Card Kit to stamp the wood background and the sentiment.  I made the leaves using my Cricut and Art Philosophy cartridge for the leaves.  Head on over to the Cards in Envy blog to see the rest of the Design Teams cards.  Then link up your Fall cards for a chance at some bragging rights.

Cards in Envy Yellow and Black

The new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog is asking for cards with the colors yellow and black as the majority colors on your card.  I immediately thought of bumble bees.  I was inspired by this pin for an idea and came up with this card.

Cards in Envy Something New

Time for a new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog.  We're looking for "something new."  Whatever you have that is new (new stamps, new technique, new ink, etc.).  This a a "new to me" die that is a Karen Burniston "Pop It Up".    I wasn't sure what to do with this die (I got it on a going out of business sale at a local scrapbook store).  I found this pin by Shelly Hickcox (StampTramp) and I was off and running using the Club Scrap Navigation kit (sorry, now retired).

Cards in Envy On The Beach

Here's the new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog.  This time we are looking for beach themed cards (as long as there is a beach image).  I went with some vintage bathing suits from the Club Scrap Boardwalk kit (retired).

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Beach challenge. Club Scrap Boardwalk images.

This might be stretching Sandy's (Cards in Envy Boss) intent a little bit but you certainly can see bathing suits on the beach!  This card is winging its way to a friend who just retired from the Army as a Colonel!  I am so proud of her and her service to our country.
Head on over to the Cards in Envy blog and check out what the rest of the design team came up with for their beach themed cards.  Then link up your beach themed cards.

Cards in Envy Twinkle Little Star

The new challenge on the Cards in Envy challenge blog is to show us your cards with stars.  You might want to show us patriotic stars for the upcoming 4th of July if your in the USA or any card theme with stars on it.  I opted for patriotic stars.
CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Challenge blog. Stars, Patriotic, Authentique
I just cut the Authentique paper on the diagonal and flipped one piece over.  Perfect way to get matching designs.  I had a "God Bless" stamp (Jillian Vance) but did not have a "the" so I hand lettered it.

Hop on over the the Cards in Envy blog and check out the star-studded cards the Design team came u with.  Then link up your star themed cards with us.

Cards in Envy Blue and "Distressed"

Today the challenge on the Cards in Envy blog is for you to use Distress Inks and a lot of the color blue on your cards.  I decided this challenge made me think about blueprints.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy challenge. Tim Holtz EF and Stamp
I used the Tim Holtz Collage embossing folder on the blue cardstock and lightly applied white pigment ink to the raised areas.  The stamp was a Simon Says Stamp exclusive for Stamptember 2017 and I stamped it in Blueprint Sketch distress ink (of course!).

Hop on over to the Cards in Envy blog and checkout the other blue and distress ink cards that the Design Team came up with.  Then link up your cards that are Blue and Distressed.

Cards in Envy "Lets Hear it for the Boys"

The new challenge at the Cards in Envy blog is for masculine cards for boys or men.  I decided to make a Birthday card that I can put a gift card or money in.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Masculine card challenge. Staimpin Up Pocketful of Sunshine
I used the Stampin'Up! Pocket full of Sunshine stamp with matching dies to make the pocket.  I heat embossed the pocket and sentiment in white EP.  I added the copper brads so it looks like the pocket is reinforced like jean pockets are.  I love the cute little fake money stamp you can put in the pocket so something is still in there when the gift card or real money is removed.

Hop on over to the Cards in Envy blog and check out the other "manly" cards that the design team came up with.  Then post your manly card for us to admire!

The new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog is to make a card from a sketch and if possible share the link to the sketch you used.  I have a card sketch board on Pinterest and decided to use this pin to make my card.

Cards in Envy One Layer Cards

The new challenge on the Cards in Envy is asking for one layer cards (base does not count).  I have been playing around with Alcohol Inks on Yupo paper and thought this background would work great with my Koi fish stamps.

The Koi fish stamps are from Emerald Creek.  The sentiment is from Club Scrap Lagoon kit.
