OWN Sketch Challenge #109

This sketch challenge at Operation Write Home was sponsored by Doodlebug Pantry.  They have the cutest digital stamps.  The link to the sketch I used is here.  This card and many other will be on there way soon to the shippers at Operation Write Home so our troops can have some fun cards to send home.

Since I don't have a laser printer I only used colored pencils on the digital image.  I'll experiment a little and see if my HP ink will stand up to a little bit of alcohol ink or watercolor.  More on that later.  Paper is some old Creative Memories scraps that I had in my stash.  Paper flowers are Creative Memories Delightful package.  Bling is from Creative Charms gradient gems.

Mother's Day Card Challenge at OWH

I have been busy making cards for Operation Write Home.  Today is a Mother's Day Card Challenge.  I found these darling vintage images at a Stamp Show last October and forgot I had them.  They are from Heartwarming Vintage.  The "Dear Mother" image was perfect for the challenge.

I'll be posting a few other cards I have made later in the day.

Valentines

I waited until I gave these valentines to my family before I posted them.  We had an early Valentine's Day dinner on Saturday because the restaurants get so crowded the closer to Valentine's Day it gets.   On Valentine's Day we will have a special at home meal.

Here is the valentine I gave my hubby.

The outside of the valentine was a cutout from the BoBunny "Enchanted Cut Outs" page.  This is a gorgeous black and white designed paper with black glitter swirls on it.  The inside of the card I designed on my Storybook Creator 4.0 software using the Creative memories Black and White Power Pallet.  This was all mounted on a 5.5 x 5.5 black card.

Now the valentine for my daughter.

I used my Cricut and made her a Hello Kitty valentine.  The background paper is Poppies from the Graphic 45 Wizard of Oz collection.  Poppies are her favorite flower and Hello Kitty is one of her favorites too.  The stamp is from the Hero Arts Operation Write Home collection.  The crystal heart is from TPC Studios.

Hope your Valentine's Day is special!

OWN VCMP Challenge #3 Funky Fold Card

If you are wondering what the acronyms in the heading mean It is Operation Write Home's Virtual Card Making Party!  I just had to try this challenge when I saw it on the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Blog (you can find the tutorial here.)  It took me two tries to get the folding and cutting right.  This is such a cool card and it fits in a standard A2 envelope!
The cardstock and paper are from Creative Memories (All Star), Spellbinder die cut, Stamps are a special "Operation Write Home set" from Hero Arts, Ribbon is from Making Memories, brad is from BoBunny.

OWN Die Cuts and Punches Challenge

This is the first card I made for the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Die Cuts and Punches Challenge.  I received my Operation Write Home Stamp in the mail today.  You stamp the back of each card you make so the troops know what organization is making these cards.  You can see the challenge page and cards  here: http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/2012/02/die-cuts-punches.html

This also qualifies for the VCMP Challenge #1:  Hot Tropics because I used Yellow and Pink and Green!

The paper is Creative Memories (New Years Celebration 2010).  The stamps, ink and punches are Stampin' Up.  The eyelets are from Eyelets-etc.com

Have a great day -- even if we do have 18 inches of snow now and it is still coming down!

Anniversary Cards

Anniversary Cards
These two cards, one created by me and one by my sister using my stuff, are anniversary cards for my brother and his wife's anniversary.

This card was CASEd from the Spring 2012 issue of Paper Creations (page 66).  Designer paper is from K&Company.  Creative Memories Cardstock. Stampin'Up label punches and stamp.  Flower from Creative Charms.  Ribbon from my stash.

This card was CASEd from the Spring 2012 issue of Paper Creations (Spellbinder's Ad inside cover).  Creative Memories Cardstock, Martha Stewart punch, Stampin'Up heart punch and stamp.  Swirl pearls on heart Prima Marketing.  Small pearls on border Creative Charms.  Embossing folders were Cuttlebug.

I hope you enjoy our creations.  I have been "lurking" at the Operation Write Home (OWN) site for months now getting up the nerve to start creating cards to send to our troops.  The ladies that post on that site are so talented and the cards go in boxes to the troops for them to send home to their families for those special occasions.  You can read more about them on their website http://operationwritehome.org/
