Virtual Card Making Party - Things With Wings

I don't seem to be doing these challenges in order but I hope to get them all done by February 25th!  You can get started on them over at the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Blog.  Yvonne over at Penguin Papers challenged us to make a card that has something with wings.

This is another card made from my February Apron Strings Designs All Year Cheer Card Kit.  I love that little wooden birdie and the colorful birdie paper!  So cute.  Everything to make the card came from the kit with the exception of the brad on the flower and the sentiment which is Hero Arts for Operation Write Home Right at Home (CL583).  The paper is Echo Park - So Happy.

Inkspirational Challenge #6

This week at the Inkspirational Blog the challenge is a color challenge.

The plum and navy set the tone for me to make a sympathy card.  I usually don't have enough of those around when I need them.

The photo doesn't do it justice because the dragonfly is embossed silver and it is a brushed silver edge around the purple background.  It is super shiny IRL.

Products Used:
Cardstock:  Stampin'Up! Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, and Elegant Eggplant
Stamps:  Measure of Life (retired), Teeny Tiny Wishes, En Francais
Ink:  Stampin'Up Perfect Plum, Versamark Watermark, Silver Pigment Ink (unknown manutacture)
Embossing Powder:  Ranger Super Fine Detail Silver

Clean and Simple Cardmaking 2 Day 4 and Blog Anniversary

Blog Candy Alert!  Please see below for the blog candy information.

A year ago I posted my first cards on my blog.  They were actually Anniversary cards for my Brother and SIL's 40th Anniversary.  Operation Write Home was the program that got me to start this blog and start making cards for them. I am so glad I found their website! So in honor of my Blog-anniversary I am offering some blog candy to one of my faithful followers.   Now for my Anniversary Card.

This card looks deceivingly simple yet I had to do it twice.  The first time as I grabbed what I thought was the blender pen and it was the black ink pen!  Oh No!  I did fix the card to use later by stamping and cutting out the flower that I black inked and gluing it over the mistake.  I made it one more time and now I'm not happy with the splatters, some of them got a little large on me.  Here is my card.

Products used:
Stamps:  Stampin'Up! Elements of Style, Recollections 5 Piece Wood Sentiment Set
Ink:  Stampin'Up! Island Indigo,  TsukinekoBrilliance Galaxy Gold Archival Ink
Embossing Powder:  Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold

Now for the Blog Candy:
Please follow me and leave a comment.  I will pick one winner on Friday February 8th to win a Creative Memories Color Me Happy 8x8 Paper Pack (12 Sheets of DSP and 12 Sheets of coordinating cardstock).  The colors are bright (hard to tell from the picture) and would make great Birthday/kids cards.
