World Cardmaking Day

Happy World Card Making Day!  I'm celebrating by showing some cards I made this week using the Club Scrap Falling Leaves Card Kit, Stencil and Stamp Set.  (I don't receive any compensation from Club Scrap -- I just love their products.)  The card kit gives you everything you need to make 12 cards (even envelopes).  It has instructions too.  For the first 2 sets of four cards I followed the instructions.

These tucked corner cards have cute sentiments.

For the last four cards I made an idea of my own using some orange Club Scrap cardstock I had and either stenciling or stamping the background with Distress Oxide inks in Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge and Aged Mahogany.  I then used Club Scrap Stipple Mist in Cherry, Sunflower and Burnt Umber on the original paper for the card.  I stamped the outline stamps with Archival Coffee Ink over the stippled paper and fussy cut them out and arranged them behind the sentiment.  I added leaves from the Falling Leaves die cut from Rinea Glossy - Copper/Gold Foil paper.  Here's a better close up of two of the cards.

Thanks for checking out my cards.

Coffee Cards

I finally finished up these coffee cards from the Club Scrap Coffee Break collection (retired). If you like Coffee themed kits there is a digital kit at Club Scrap called Brewed Awakenings (note:  I don't received any compensations from Club Scrap - I just like their products.)  I started these cards and then they got put away when I was cleaning my desk and I didn't finish them until now.

I decided to enter these in:
Watercooler Wednesday "All About Occasions."  Coffee breaks are an occasion, right?

Never Forget

Today brings back memories that sometimes are hard to think about.  I was in Washington D.C. for National Guard Duty the day the plane hit the Pentagon.  The Double Tree Hotel I was staying in was right across  the street from the Pentagon.  I was at the Army National Guard Readiness Center (about 2 miles from the Pentagon) when the planes hit.  I was more fortunate than 2 others in our Colorado contingent who were actually in the Pentagon when the plane hit.  They survived but the chaos and trauma was hard on them.  When we were told to leave the building I was in, it took us 2 hours to get back to the hotel even though it was only 2 miles away.  Traffic was horrible and cell phones did not work.  When I got back to the hotel I was able to use the land line to call my family at home in Colorado to reassure them I was safe.  The fear I felt that day still comes back to haunt me sometimes.  The sad part is 18 years later we really are no safer from terrorist, and the general public does not take it seriously.  The smell of the burning jet fuel smoke being sucked in to our hotel air conditioning will stay with me forever.  The relief when we landed back in Colorado on September 12th stays with me too!  The world changed on September 11, 2001.  Please pray for our troops deployed that they may safely return home.  God Bless America!

Beach/Sea ATC

Wow!  It has been a while since I posted.  I went on a 20 day Mediterranean cruise in May and then my Father-in-law passed away and time got away from me.  I have been crafting just not posting on my blog.
When I saw the ATC Around the World challenge I wanted to make a Beach/Sea ATC from the Club Scrap High Tide stamps and kit.  (Note:  I don't receive any compensation from Club Scrap for this post, I just like their products).   I will also be trading these ATCs with the Club Scrap ATC group.

I heat embossed with clear EP over the blue ink to give it a shine.  Now that things have calmed down and summer is over I hope to be posting more on my blog.

Baby Shower Card

Sorry I haven't posted for a while.  My Mom broke her arm at the shoulder and is in a sling for a long time.  I have been with her at the hospital and now the Rehab facility every day.  Busy time!  I have a baby shower to go to this weekend with a giraffe theme.  Club Scrap's Gone Wild Kit had the perfect paper and embellishments for the card!

Hope you all have a great day.  Here's hoping I can get back to blogging more soon!

CraftyColonel.blogspot.com for Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge #129 Club Scrap image
I made this card for the challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #129.  The challenge was "D is for diet."  The sentiment is from Club Scrap Bon Appettite kit (retired).  I had to make the cookie myself.  I thought the crumbs were a nice addition!

Cards in Envy Love Me or Love My Pet Challenge

My apologies to Cards in Envy readers looking for my blog post!  I posted my card for Sandy to post on the Cards in Envy blog but failed to do the blog post on my blog.  I guess I am getting "Old-timers" disease LOL!  So here is my card for the Love Me or Love My Pet Challenge.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy challenge. Impression Obessions stamp, Graphic 45 paper,
This Dog and Butterfly stamp from Impression Obsessions reminds me of my 16 year old Weimeraner.  He's a sleepy boy and if he was sitting outside some butterfly would certainly think he was a great place to rest.  I used Graphic 45 paper and sentiment.  Check out the other design team member and post a Love card or a Love my pet card for us to see on the Cards in Envy blog.  Be sure to read our annoucement at the top of the page about the very last challenge for the Cards in Envy challenge blog.

B is for Books

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge 126 is "B is for Books."  I have been following their challenge blog for awhile but this is the first time I decided to play along.  I used the Clup Scrap Ivy League kit to create my card.

Cards in Envy All About Numbers

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Time for a new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog.  Create a card featuring numbers such as a birthday, at date, 2019, etc.  I'm celebrating the new year with my clock card.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy challenge. Weathered clock Tim Holtz. Nuvo flakes technique.
I used the Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die.  Cutting it out of double stick tape and using Nuvo Guilding flakes in Radiant gold over the surface.  The hands are coated with black glitter. The words are from Elizabeth Craft Dies.
Head on over to the Cards in Envy blog and post your cards with numbers on them.  Be sure to check out what the Design Team came up with.
