Club Scrap London Calling Blog Hop

Good morning my bloggy friends!  Welcome to the Club Scrap London Calling bloghop.
If you arrived here from the Club Scrap Blog you are in the right place.  If you arrived here from somewhere else and would like to start at the beginning of the bloghop, go HERE to the Club Scrap blog

I normally subscribe to the Club Scrap Digital Kit, the Art Nouveau StampClub Stamp Kit,  Unmounted Borders and Backgrounds Stamp, and the Embellishment Pack.

I get my digital kit on the first day of the month.  Here's a page I did with one of the Quick Drop Digital Layouts (QDDLs).  It just so happened I have photos from my trip to Europe in the summer of 1972 that had never been scrapbooked!  Here's my visit to the Tower of London. I had to scan my photos and touch them up as they were fading badly.  I used Panstoria's Historian program to edit them.

I have so few pictures of that trip compared to how many pictures I would take now with my digital camera.  When we were using film we took pictures sparingly.  I did keep a journal during that summer so the memories are still there in my writings and the pictures are in my mind.

When my Club Stamp kit came I had fun creating this card.

Club Scrap, Crafty Colonel, London Calling, Masculine Card

The bowler hat and mustache were just too cute.  The Union Jack print ribbon really brightened it up!

And then I made this card.

Club Scrap, Crafty Colonel, London Calling, Journey Card

Next up is Debbie Hernandez on her Masculine Inspirations blog.
Happy Crafting!

  4. that reminds me... I have spring break pictures from highschool when the family (living in Germany at the time) took a week long trip to England to do some genealogy and sightseeing. I really should dig up those pictures and use them with all these goodies! thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten all about that.

  6. That digital page is a great story. I kept a journal the summer I spent in Europe after my junior year in high school. What a treasure! I know what you mean about film. My parents had a fit when I developed all 52 rolls at once!

  7. Donna, I love that you were able to document the trip from the 70's and the photos work so perfectly with the digital elements. When I was 11, my family and I went on a cross country tour of the US, during which I kept a journal. Someday my goal is to scrapbook that trip and use my journal to document the journey. Love your cards as well, thanks for sharing :)

  16. Your layout is really beautiful. I love how the older photos really lend themselves to the muted design of the printed (digi) papers.

  18. Hi Donna
What an amazing scrapbook page and I think the saying at the bottom is so true.
I've never been to the Tower of London and I only live 100 miles away lol!
Great cards too, though not all of us Brits have moustaches. . . . . . . Only the women! Hahaha!
    Have a great weekend.

  19. Just fabulous, all your cards! I remember the film times - 3 rolls per vacation, back when I had literally no money and you would really think about taking a picture or not...later on I went to 6 rolls.....but thankfully my mind still remembers some of it.
