Club Scrap Constellation Bloghop

 photo jan_15_bloghop_zpsb7c78557.jpg
Welcome to the Club Scrap Constellation Bloghop.  If you arrived here from the Club Scrap Blog you are in the right place.  If you arrived here from somewhere else and would like to start at the beginning of the bloghop, go HERE to the Club Scrap blog

I normally subscribe to the Club Scrap Digital Kit, the Art Nouveau StampClub Stamp Kit,  Unmounted Borders and Backgrounds Stamp, and the Embellishment Pack.  This time because I fell in love with this kit I also got the Club Scrap Lite Kit.

I get my digital kit on the first day of the month.  That is so great because you can see everything and start playing right away!  Here's what I did with my digital kit.

Club Scrap, Crafty Colonel, Constellation Digital Kit, 12x12 Scrapbook page.

I can see this kit documenting STARCON and COMICON visits.  Also great for graduations and other "stellar" achievements!
I was prompted by the upcoming Layout A Day (LOAD215) with Lain Ehmann about the books that impacted our lives.  These books have given me a love of the future yet to come.
When my Club Stamp kit came I had fun creating this card.

Club Scrap, Crafty Colonel, Constellation Club Stamp and Embellishment pack, Birthday Card.
The embellishment pack dark cutapart had a unicorn in the star chart.  I love unicorns and had to make a card with this cutapart.  The sparkle ribbon from the embellishment kit and the silver printed paper from the Club stamp kit make this card spectacular!  I used silver EP for the sentiment.

You are such a blessing

Today I bringing you some inspiration for Inspired by Stamping using two of our new stamp sets the Flower of the Month Pansy and sentiments from Spring Bouquet.  This card is going to a lovely lady who helps with the bible classes at our church.

Inspired by Stamping, Crafty Colonel, Flower of the Month Pansy, Spring Bouquet, Thank You Card
I stamped the flower with Archival ink on watercolor paper and used markers to color it.  I then went over it with a light wash and some "sprinkles" from the wet brush.  The sentiment is stamped in Archival ink also.  Hope your Sunday is a blessed one!

IBS Spring Bouquet and Big Hello

Today I am over at the Inspired by Stamping Blog with a card highlighting the last two stamp sets in our new release.  The Spring Bouquet set and the Big Hello set make a great combination for this card.

Inspired by Stamping, Crafty Colonel (Donna Nuce), Spring Bouquet, Big Hello, Alcohol inks, Friend Card

What is sad about this photo is that you really can't see the shiny gold alcohol ink background on the card.  It seems impossible to get a good photo of it.  But here's a better close up of it.
Inspired by Stamping, CraftyColonel (Donna Nuce), Spring Bouquet, Big Hello, Alcohol inks, Friend Card.

I started out using a technique with Alcohol Inks that Virginia Lu (Yes, Virginia) demonstrated on her blog HERE.  Then I decided to try the gold Alcohol ink and I changed it up completely.  Then I tried drops of alcohol ink directly onto the areas I wanted color.  You get an amazing "run" of color where I tried that.  It's a very free form look.  Thanks for stopping by.  Check out what my team mate Lisa came up with over on the Inspired by Stamping blog.

Australian Birds and a Sneak Peek!

Today I am using the new Inspired by Stamping Australian Birds set to create this card.
Inspired by Stamping, Crafty Colonel Donna Nuce, Australian Birds, No Sentiment Card
I just love this Cockatoo!  One of my friends had a Cockatoo.  They are very beautiful birds.  The bird was name Amber for the beautiful coloring of her head feathers and tail feathers.  After stamping "Amber" I embossed her with clear EP and colored her with colored pencils.  I then masked her off and  stamped palm trees from the Tropical Paradise Stamp set which you will see on Thursday.  I inked the background in with some distress ink too.  A simple card but the Cockatoo really needed to take center stage on this card!

Hummingbirds

Today I am using the new Inspired by Stamping Hummingbirds set to create this card.  I designed this to enter Darnell's NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) Challenge #3 which is almost over.

Inspired by Stamping, Donna Nuce (Crafty Colonel), Hummingbirds, No sentiment card,
Not only is the humming bird and flower stamp NBUS but the die cute edging on the front and the embossing folder are NBUS!  Triple play!!!
I used Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils and some perfect pearls on the hummingbird since their feathers are so shiny in the sun.

January Birthday

An retired Air Force girlfriend has the same birthday month as I do.  Every year in January we spend an overnight at the Colorado Casinos with another Army girlfriend and celebrate our birthdays.  Here is the card I made for my Air Force girlfriend.

Memory Box exclusive Stamp & Die, Inspired by Stamping Sentiment, Card by Crafty Colonel (Donna Nuce), Birthday card

The carnation Memory Box stamp and die is an exclusive at Simple Pleasures, a local LSS in Colorado Springs.  I snatched it up because the Carnation is the flower for January birthdays!  The birthday sentiment is from Inspired by Stamping "A Lovely Birthday."  Ribbon is Really Reasonable ribbon.  Tomorrow I celebrate my actual Birthday with my Mom and Sister for lunch and DH and DD for dinner!

Blog Candy!
In honor of my birthday I am giving away two stamp sets to one lucky commenter on this blog post!  You have until January 22nd to comment.

Inspired By Stamping Sympathy Card

I'm here with some Design Team inspiration for Inspired by Stamping.  It is always a tough time when I have to make a sympathy card.  A dear friend from our Bible study classes passed away very suddenly.  This card is for her husband, who was also part of our Bible study class.

Inspired by Stamping, All Year Wishes, Butterfly Wings, Sympathy Card

I added a sentiment to the inside left leaving room on the right for a hand written personal note.

Inspired By Stamping, Everyday Greetings, Butterfly Wings, Sympathy card inside,

For the front of the card I used a page from the Spring Lilacs 6x6 paper pad and stamped the butterflies from the Butterfly Wings set on it after sponging with blue and brown ink.  I mounted it behind vanilla cardstock with a diecut opening with piercing around the diecut.  Sympathy sentiment is from the All Year Wishes set.  The inside sentiment is from the Everyday Greetings set

I am adding this to the Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge.

Inspired By Stamping Home Decor

Today I am over at the Inspired by Stamping blog to show you a Valentine's day frame to use for your home decor.
At one time I worked as a custom framer for Hobby Lobby.  The year that I worked there I acquired some nice frames that were in the "discard" pile for a very reasonable price.  The frame I used for this project was one of those discards so it was scratched up a little and in need of a little beautifying.  Using Stazon ink and glitter embossing powder perked up the frame.  I created a large heart and stamped it with many different stamped sentiments mounted on red shiny cardstock.  It was fun to combine these different stamped sentiments into a heart design.

Inspired by Stamping, Crafty Colonel, Various Stamp Sets, Home Decor, Valentines day

Stamps set used:   "Hugs and Kisses" from the Vintage Tickets Set, "Love" from the Fancy Circles set, a tiny heart "I heart you" and "love you" from the Teeny Tiny Greetings set, "I Love You" "My Dear" and "with Love" from the All Year Wishes I set, "Love stamp" from the A Lovely Birthday set, "love:" from the Holiday Tags set, two larger hearts from the Build a Stocking set, and another "I love you" from the Creative Tags set. (I also could have used the "with love" and "hugs & kisses" and "xoxo" from that set but didn't)  I stamped the frame with a flourish from the Fancy Tags set.

NEW Challenge Blog CASE-ing Christmas

My friend Mynn has come up with a new challenge blog.  It is called CASE-ing Christmas.  The challenges are weekly on Fridays.  Here's my card for the very first post.

I stamped and embossed on vellum with silver EP.  I did not realize how hard it would be to photograph.  It looks out of focus but it's not.  Here's a close up to see it better.

I dry embossed the backing cardstock with a swirl embossing folder.
Come over and join us for some fun and some Blog Candy all this month!

Glittery Color Challenge

Happy New Year!  I'm back with another monthly challenge from the House of Cards.
To use glitter and/or be inspired by this~
glittered (blues)

Now glitter is not one of my favorite things to work with so I had to dig around to find anything glittery but here's what I came up with.

Crafty Colonel, StampinUp, Thinlit Snowflake Die, Winter Card, House of Cards Challenge Blog,

I used my NBUS (never before used schtuff) (see Darnell at DJKardkreations.com for more info) Stampin'Up! Thinlit Snowflake Card Die.  Here's what it looks like opened.

Crafty Colonel, StampinUp, Thinlits Snowflake Card Die, Winter Card, House of Cards Challenge Blog,
Isn't that "BRR" cute?  For the card I used two kinds of glitter paper.  The blue glitter paper is from DCWV, my preferred kind to use because the glitter is embedded in the cardstock and does not shed.  The silver glitter is from Stampin'Up! and it does shed but creates a beautiful sparkle.  You can see the difference here in this close-up.

Crafty Colonel, StampinUp, Thinlits Snowflake Card Die, Winter Card, House of Cards Challenge Blog,

The challenge at the House of Cards is for all month long.  You don't have to use glitter - you can just follow the color scheme instead.  Hope to see you on the House of Cards Challenge Blog.
I am also entering this in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3.
