Wait! Did they say MUSCLE CARD? I thought they said MUSCLE CAR! Anyway here is a Muscle Car for the Muscle Card Challenge.
I used the Cricut Cartridge "Nifty Fifties" to make the car and the cool Dad font and background. The I mounted it on Diamond Plated Embossed Creative Memories Platinum Shimmer Cardstock. (This looks just like the floor of my husband's race car trailer) I also used the Platinum Shimmer to make the car bumpers look chromed. Unfortunately the photo does not do justice to the cool shimmer of this paper.

Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 101 Day 2
I am taking the Tim Holtz Creative chemistry 101 Class at Online Card Classes. You can still register for it. Tim is such a creative person. This class is understanding how all the Ranger ink, dyes and paper work together (and sometimes against each other). Here are the first three tags from Day 2 (Day 1 was introductory).
These tags use the distressed ink. I love the middle tag. It is a watercolor stamping technique. I have learned a lot about how these inks react with water and to each other. Fun class.

Curious Scrapbooker's Field Guide Weeks 4 and 5
I am taking May Flaum's Big Picture Class called the Curious Scrapbooker's Field Guide. It has some wonderful videos on techniques and great handouts. Here are my submissions for weeks 4 and 5.
In Week 3 May decorated a bird house. I was not going to do this project but as I walked into Joanne's Craft Store the bird houses were in a basket right out in front. So here is my bird house project.
The Front
And the back.
I used a stamp from Stampington&Co for the roof tiles. The paper is Creative Memories Reminisce Paper. The trim around the bottom is a Cricut cut from the Reminisce Cartridge. The back window and door is from the Cricut Christmas Cartridge. The diamond window is a Cricut cut from the Reminisce cartridge with a layer of Glossy Accent to make it look like a window. The jewel in the back attic is Creative Charms. I really enjoyed making this birdhouse.
My next project was for week 4, Paper and Pen week. I made this card.
I used inchie stamps from Inkadinkadoo. The ink was Wild Honey Tim Holtz Distressed ink. The papers were DCWV "Tattered Time." The butterfly and word stamp are Stampington&Co. The Journey lettering is my own calligraphy. I used a Micron Pigma pen (.05) for the black penwork.
Week 5 was Embossing and paste. I made this tag with dry and wet embossing.
The dry embossing was a Cuttlebug folder that goes with the Pagoda Cartridge. The embossing was inked with Old Olive Tim Holtz Distressed ink. The wet embossing was the Chinese Characters and fans from the Kimono stamp set from Stampin'Up! One of the commenters in the class said the Chinese character is for Happiness. I am happy enjoying crafting!

Missing You Cards
Operations Write Home Stars and Stamps Blog is having a Missing You card challenge. I won't be mailing this card off until later in the year since it has a definite winter theme but it was too cute not to share for the challenge.
I CASE'd this card from the Apron Strings website. I get their "Smaller Than a Breadbox" kit every month. I believe this was in the January kit. I just love plaid paper. The green pennants were actually Christmas Trees with the trunk cut off.
I made another Missing You card which I blogged about earlier here. I'll share it one more time since it did not get posted with a linky on another site.
Hope you enjoyed my cards

The Quilt
Almost three years ago I took a road trip to Chicago with my Aunt to see my cousin. On the way we stopped at the Amana Colonies. There was a quilt shop (Fern Hill Quilt Shop) that had this quilt on display and you could buy the kit. I have never done a quilt in my life but I fell in love with this quilt. I bought the kit and thanks to my wonderful mother, I now have this gorgeous quilt displayed in my stairwell. She was the one who helped me figure out how to make it. Thanks Mom! I hope you all enjoy it.

March ODBD Challenge at OWH Stars and Stamps
Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) is sponsoring a challenge to pay for mailing of two boxes of cards for Operation Write Home on their Stars and Stamps Blog. The challenge involved a tic-tac-toe matrix that three items in a row had to be used. I picked the first column requiring Brads, Digi Stamp, and a Die cut. Here's what I came up with.
The intricate die cut at the bottom is a Spellbinder's Shapabilities. The scalloped circle is from the Cricut Wild Card cartridge, The Bee is from the Cricut Home Decor cartridge. The Digi Stamp is my own design using the Beans font and the Chancery Cursive Font. Spellbinders Shapabilities were used to cut out the labels. The brads are from Oriental Trading Company and the gems are from Creative Charms.

The Curious Scrapbooker's Field Guide
I am taking The Curious Scrapbooker's Field Guide Class taught by May Flaum at The Big Picture Classes. We are on week four now but I am behind and just now posted week three. The class takes you through many different techniques such as misting, stencils, paint, glitter and so on. Here are my submissions to the gallery for the first three weeks.
Week one was all about misting.
I used Adirondak alcohol inks in Sunshine Yellow and Purple Twilight for the background. Background stamp is Glitz Designs embossed with copper embossing powder. I stenciled over with Tattered Angels Bronze Glimmer mist. The Die Cut is Mistables by Pink Paislee misted with Tattered Angels Sugar Plum Fairy. Foreground stamps are Stampin' Up. Antique brads are from Creative Charms.
Week two was about stamping and distressed inks.
This was the first time I have used by Distressed Ink even though I have had some for a while. I needed this class to show me how! I inked the edges of the card and sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I even inked the ribbon to match! The images were by Heartwarming Vintage. The sentiment (Hero Arts) was stamped with the same distressed ink.
Week three was about paint.
I CASE'd this card design from a card I mad in a class at Archiver's. I used my Adirondak White Paint Dabber on my background stamp (Stampin' Up Belle Toile) and stamped. After it was dry I stamped over it with the script stamp (Glitz Designs). Three of the flowers have Distressed Crackle Paint (Ranger) on them and the other two flowers have Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze on them. The sentiment is stamped (Hero Arts) on vellum and I distressed the edges. I used embroidery thread for the bow.
The cards will be sent to Operation Write Home. I am working on more cards for them.
