Club Scrap Dungarees Blog Hop

Welcome to the Club Scrap Dungarees Blog Hop!  If you got here from Annette's page then you are on the right track.  If you got here some other way and would like to go back and start at the beginning of the blog hop go to the Club Scrap Blog HERE.  I subscribe to both the Club Scrap Digital Kit, The Art Nouveau Stamp, The Unmounted Rubber, Embellishment Kit and the Club Stamp Kit.  Since my digital kit comes at the first of the month I played with it first.  I am participating in Layout a Day (LOAD) for this month so I made a layout of memories of my Grandparents cabin.  I use Panstoria Artisan Software for my digital scrapbooking.  I loved the blue plaid DP, the jean ribbon and the brass buttons in the kit.

I fell in love with the "brother sentiment."  It fits my brother so well that I decided to make this card for his Birthday in July.  I know my SIL reads the blog so Pati, don't show Mike!

I cased the idea from a card on Pinterest (posted to my Club Scrap Board).  I used the text weight DP that had the fabric look to it.  I wanted more of a blue jean color than the khaki color on it so I inked it first with Faded Jeans Distress Ink, then Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink.  I stamped the seam, twice so it was long enough, on a separate piece of paper with Chipped Sapphire, cut it out and glued it to the DP.  Then went over it with Brushed Cordouroy Distress ink for the dirty jean look.  I stamped the leather patch with Brushed Cordouroy onto the khaki/craft cardstock and then the sentiment with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.   With four mini brads in the corners this looks almost real.  The Ribbon is from the Club Scrap Embellishment Kit.  I stamped the buttons with Versamark Ink and embossed them with Zing Bronze EP.  I punched them out with a 1/2 inch punch and mounted them on 3 layers of cardstock to give them some dimension.  Here's a detail picture of the buttons.
Now head on over to Wendy's blog NEXT.  If you want to start at the beginning of the Blog Hop go to the Club Scrap Blog HERE.

Operation Write Home Memorial Day BlogHop

memdaybloghop_2014

Welcome to the Operation Write Home Memorial day Bloghop. If you would like to start at the beginning of the hop, click on the picture above and it will take you to the links on the OWH Stars and Stamps blog.   I hope you are having fun hopping along and viewing some fabulous creations by our fellow OWHers!  Here is my card for the hop!

Our Theme for the Hop is Red, White and Blue made as Love Cards, Missing You Cards, Thank You Cards, Birthday Cards or Any Hero Cards with a written message inside.  As I was digging through my formidable paper stash (ahem!) I found this Authentique Glory Kit with the flowers made out of hearts.  I knew I just had to cut one out and use it. I used OWH Sketch 54.  The  kit even came with the cute word stickers to make the sentiment.  So -- not one stamp was used making this card.  Unusual for me!  Ribbon is Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Click on the picture at the top of the post to get back to the BlogHop Linkys!

It's time for another two week challenge over at the House of Cards Challenge Blog.  This is the Classic & Elegant or CAS challenge.  We are using this photo and/or color as our inspiration!

Here's my card for the challenge.

I stamped this Club Scrap "Take Wing" image on Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper with Ranger Black Archival and clear embossed it.    I used Squeezed Lemonade, Victorian Velvet and Dusty Concord Distressed inks for the background colors.  I cut it out and mounted it on Lavender DP is from G45 Secret Garden and then Yellow DP from Bella Blvd.  Sentiment is from the Club Scrap "Take Wing" stamp set. Come on over and join us at the House of Cards Challenge blog for some fun!

Watercolor Stamping

Day 3 and 4 of Watercolor for Cardmakers has us doing watercolor stamping.  I used my Gelatos and the "Watercolor Blossoms" stamp set from Club Scrap.  I had to spray the stamp and stamp several times before I got an image that I liked.  The Gelatos either were too light or too watery.  Next time I might use my Distress Markers.  I have had better luck using them for watercolor stamping.  Check out my post HERE for an example with Distress Markers.

Watercolor For Cardmakers

Nothing like overloading myself with classes this week.  On top of the Layout a Day class I signed up for the Watercolor for Cardmakers class.  This card is a combination of two techniques from day 1 and day 2.  I used the Vibrant Watercolor Wash from Day 1 along with Jennifer McGuire Watercolor background technique using masking from day 2.  I was running low on artist's tape so I tried to use painter's tape.  I ripped my watercolor paper on one corner.  That's the last time I'll use painter's tape.  Off to buy some more artist's tape.

Simply Sketchy stamp set from Stampin'Up!  Stazon Black Ink.  Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Tim Holtz Distressed ink background.  Artist's Masking Fluid.

LOAD Day 6

More Layout a Day with Laine Ehmann.  Still working on Day 5 will post when I finish it.  The prompt for today was "Misheard Lyrics."  The Louie Louie song by the Kingsmen was so popular in the mid 1960s.  I can't help but think that much of the popularity was the rumor of "obscene lyrics." (Never proved)

A digital page today using Creative Memories "Rock Star" kit and Panstoria Artisan Software.

LOAD DAY 4

Day 4 of Layout a Day with Lain Ehmann.  Today's prompt was about VIPs.  The VIP for today was "Dear Santa."  I attended ScrapFest 2012 at Mall of the America and acquired this Christmas Scrapbook kit by Little Yellow Bicycle.  I decided it was time to put it to work.  This was my very first picture with Santa.  The five things I love about Christmas are Family, Ravioli (our families Christmas meal), Music (Carols), Decorating and Presents!

LOAD DAY 3

Day 3 of the Layout A Day class with Lain Ehmann.  Today's prompt was pastimes, "Mom I'm Board."  No board is not misspelled.  We were to document board games in our past.  Yatzee immediately came to mind as we played this a lot as kids and now play it on our camping trips.

This time I went digital as opposed to paper.  I downloaded the picture of the Yahtzee pad from the internet.  The background paper is from my Club Scrap "Big Deal" digital kit.  The dice, notepad and label are from various kits from the Digital Scrapbook Place (DSP).  I used Panstoria's Artisan Software to make my digital pages.

LOAD Day 2

Continuing with my Layout A Day Class with Lain Ehmann.  The prompt today was places "If these walls could talk."  I have been wanting to scrap these two photos from my Freshman Year dorm room.  Finally got it done!

This was a fun one to scrap!  I enjoyed going back to my flower child days!  The cardstock and paper are from the Close to My Heart "Dream Pop" kit from last year.

Layout A Day LOAD

I signed up for the Layout A Day with Lain Ehmann.  She gives you a prompt and you have to finish a Layout in one day.  Here is my first one.  I'll do one a day for the month.  The prompt was "In the News."  She mentioned 911 when she was giving the prompt.  It hit a nerve since I was right by the Pentagon on that day.  Ten years later I wrote a three page story of my experience.  It is in a pocket on the back of this page.  The information from this page came from the Colorado National Guard Website on the 10th Anniversary.

I mounted it on some Bazzil newsprint.
