Pattern Play Day 5 Faux Quilting

I was delighted to see that one of the techniques on Pattern Play Day 5 was quilting with patterned paper.  There is a little craft resale store in Golden, Colorado called The Craft Box.  They have once a month classes on Faux Quilting.  They use actual quilt square designs and square punches with paper applied to a grid to make the quilt squares.  Here is the March quilt square.  It is called "Friends Star."

After all the small diamonds and squares are stuck down with double sided tape, you "quilt" the square with an embossing folder.  You could add a sentiment in the middle but I didn't want to cover up my pretty paper!

Products used:
Stampin'Up Paper, cardstock, and embossing folders
Faux suede background paper.
Double sided tape
Grid paper
1 1/4, 1, 3/4 and 1/2 inch square punches

  2. I love making quilted cards, and this one turned out so pretty! I love the background color and embossing that sets off your quilt block beautifully! NJ!

  3. Embossing that quilted block gives a great effect. Lovely card!
